Matosinhos to host Beach Tennis World Championship

Matosinhos will host the Beach Tennis World Championship from September 7 to 13. This marks the first time in 14 years that the competition has been held outside of Italy.

The event is expected to set records with over 900 athletes, including approximately 800 international players. The total prize money is set at $115,000, distributed as $100,000 for men's and women's competitions and $15,000 for mixed doubles.

Thirty-two courts will be installed on the Matosinhos beach, hosting top-10 world-ranked pairs. The championship will also include various age categories, such as junior competitions (U12, U14, U16, and U18) and tournaments for older players in the +40 and +50 categories, alongside an amateur social tournament.
