Mats Hummels promotes exotic sports for 2027 Innsbruck event

Former professional footballer and World Cup winner Mats Hummels is serving as a prominent face for the Sportunion to promote exotic sports. Alongside Austrian skeleton pilot Janine Flock, Hummels is participating in promotional activities for the Edgy-Sports-Event scheduled to take place in Innsbruck in the spring of 2027.

During a visit to Innsbruck, Hummels tested various disciplines including rope skipping, plate throwing, and disc golf. He noted that rope skipping was particularly challenging, stating, “Am schwierigsten war sicher das Rope Skipping. Da habe ich mich wie ein Mammut gefühlt.” The initiative aims to bring lesser-known competitive sports into the spotlight.

Hummels, a legendary figure at Borussia Dortmund who also played for FC Bayern München, has transitioned into various physical activities following his football career, including skiing and padel tennis.
