Mats Rits to face former club Anderlecht in Croky Cup

Beerschot midfielder Mats Rits is preparing to face his former club, RSC Anderlecht, in the Croky Cup sixteenth-finals on October 18. After a challenging period at Anderlecht during the 2025-2026 season, Rits moved to Beerschot to regain his form.

Rits has already completed two full ninety-minute matches for Beerschot against Sporting Hasselt and Crossing Schaarbeek. Regarding the upcoming matchup against his former team, Rits stated that he is “not a fan of feelings of revenge,” though he acknowledges the match will be special due to his existing connections at Anderlecht, including facing his close friend, goalkeeper Colin Coosemans.

While the cup match is a notable event, Rits emphasized that Beerschot’s primary focus remains on the Challenger Pro League and securing promotion, noting that an upcoming match against RFC Liège is the club's top priority.
