Mats Rots rejoins Jong Oranje following TSG Hoffenheim transfer

Mats Rots has rejoined the Jong Oranje squad following his high-profile transfer from FC Twente to TSG Hoffenheim. The 20-year-old left-back moved to the German club for a fee reported to be between 12 and 16 million euros.

Rots has established himself as a regular starter at Hoffenheim, noting that the German league offers a greater physical challenge and faster ball tempo compared to the Eredivisie. He credited former Jong Oranje player Wouter Burger for helping him settle into life in Germany.

Upon his return to the Dutch youth national team, Rots noted that Ruud Nijstad, his former teammate at FC Twente, has emerged as a potential competitor for the left-back position. Rots expressed pride in his development and his ability to compete at a higher level in Germany.
