Matsue Junior Chamber to host youth-led future city project

The Matsue Junior Chamber will host the ‘MATSUE Re PROJECT’ on September 13, 2026, at Kunibiki Messe in Matsue, Shimane Prefecture. This event marks the 70th anniversary of the organization and focuses on the theme of creating a city that high school students will want to return to in ten years.

High school students will lead the project by presenting ideas for the future of Matsue, categorized into ‘GOOD’ (current charms) and ‘MOTTO’ (desired improvements). The event is designed to be an experiential showcase where visitors can see, play, and taste the future visions proposed by the youth.

As part of the festivities, the next-generation augmented reality (AR) sport ‘HADO,’ developed by meleap Inc., will be featured. HADO utilizes head-mounted displays and arm sensors to allow players to interact with a digital world, using ‘energy balls’ and ‘shields’ in a physical-digital hybrid sport known as ‘techno-sports.’
