MatsukiyoCocokara to acquire John Masters Organics

MatsukiyoCocokara & Co., Inc. has announced the acquisition of John Masters Holdings, the parent company of the premium organic cosmetics brand John Masters Organics. The acquisition will be executed through its subsidiary, MCC Management, resulting in 100% ownership of the brand.

John Masters Organics is a high-end brand of US origin that specializes in organic hair and skincare products. It currently operates 36 direct stores in department stores and shopping centers, such as Shinjuku Isetan and Yurakucho Marui, alongside an e-commerce platform. The brand reported sales of 4.652 billion yen for the fiscal year ending September 2025.

The acquisition is scheduled to be finalized on September 7, though the purchase price has not been disclosed. MatsukiyoCocokara aims to strengthen its presence in the beauty and cosmetics sector by combining its extensive drugstore distribution network with the brand power of John Masters Organics. Following the acquisition, the brand will continue to operate under its current management led by President Yuichiro Otaki.
