MatsukiyoCocokara to acquire John Masters Organics

MatsukiyoCocokara & Co. has agreed to acquire John Masters Holdings, the operator of the organic cosmetics brand John Masters Organics, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition is scheduled for completion on September 7, 2026.

This move is part of the company’s ‘Alliance Concept,’ following its previous acquisition of the beauty review service AppBrew. By integrating the premium brand into its network of over 3,600 stores and 170 million customer touchpoints, MatsukiyoCocokara aims to defend brand value in an organic market that is increasingly shifting from a premium niche toward a more commoditized sector.

In a separate expansion of its retail footprint, MatsukiyoCocokara also announced the opening of a new Matsukiyo drugstore at Narita International Airport’s Terminal 3 on August 28, 2026. This marks the company’s fifth location within Narita Airport, supporting its strategy to serve international travelers and strengthen its global presence.
