Matsuko Deluxe Returns to Live TV After Neck Surgery and Critiques Balanced Messaging

Japanese television personality Matsuko Deluxe appeared live on TOKYO MX’s weekday commentary program “5-ji ni Yumemochi!” on June 27. During the segment she shared her view that maintaining a balanced level of communication through email or LINE is impossible, noting she seldom uses these apps and prefers occasional contact.

The appearance follows her public disclosure in February that she underwent emergency surgery for cervical spinal compression. After about two months of rest, she returned to the show looking unchanged, with staff commenting on her steady health, appetite and energy. She also highlighted her fondness for Hokkaido rice brand Nanatsuboshi, joking that she eats the most of it personally.
