São Paulo police respond to hostage crisis, fatal shootouts, and home invasion

Several violent incidents occurred in the state of São Paulo. In Votuporanga, Higor Tiago de Lima Santana was arrested after holding his ex-partner and their seven-month-old baby hostage for over seven hours. The suspect, who was already a fugitive, allegedly threatened the victims with a knife and committed sexual assault during the ordeal. The crisis ended after negotiations involving specialized police units, including the Gate tactical group.

In Guarujá, a police operation in the Santa Rosa community resulted in the deaths of two suspects following a confrontation with the Military Police. Shortly after the incident, an unidentified man opened fire on an Environmental Military Police base, striking a vehicle and the facility's facade. The shooter was subsequently shot during a second encounter with officers and taken for medical treatment.

Additionally, in the Alto de Pinheiros neighborhood of São Paulo, a luxury residence belonging to the Matsunaga family was invaded by criminals. The robbery, which involved employees being held hostage, resulted in the death of three suspects and the arrest of a fourth following intervention by the Rota police unit.
