New Taipei City hosts seasonal sweet potato sales events

The New Taipei City Agricultural Bureau is hosting promotional sales events for the city’s “Healthy Three Treasures” sweet potatoes during their peak season. The events are scheduled for September 5–6 at Hope Plaza near MRT Shandao Temple Station, and September 10–11 at the Banqiao Farmers' Association near MRT Fuzhong Station.

New Taipei sweet potatoes, primarily grown in the North Coast region, benefit from volcanic ash soil which provides excellent drainage. Featured varieties include the Tai-Nong No. 66 red-fleshed sweet potato, known for its high sweetness and beta-carotene, and the Tai-Nong No. 57 golden sweet potato, noted for its soft texture.

In addition to fresh produce, the sales will feature processed goods such as sweet potato crisps and noodles. The Jinshan District Farmers' Association also offers online purchasing options for those unable to attend the physical events.
