Matt Brash shut down for season due to lat inflammation

Seattle Mariners reliever Matt Brash has been shut down for the remainder of the season due to continued inflammation in his right lat. A recent MRI confirmed the inflammation, though no structural damage was found.

Brash, who had previously missed the 2024 season due to Tommy John surgery, was expected to serve as a key bullpen reinforcement. Before the injury, he maintained a 0.54 ERA across 20 appearances this season. He is expected to undergo a normal offseason throwing program and should be ready for the next season.
