Matt Damon adopts strict gluten‑free diet after hidden health issues
Actor Matt Damon said on the "Good Hang With Amy Poehler" podcast that the intense physical preparation for his role in Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film "The Odyssey" revealed an undiagnosed food intolerance. During the weight‑loss regimen he reached his lowest weight in decades and discovered he was intolerant to gluten. Damon decided to eliminate gluten permanently, cutting out bread, beer, pasta and pizza. He described the change as a new lifestyle, noting that it "changed my life" and improved his overall well‑being.
The actor’s disclosure was reported by several media outlets, including a Portuguese interview where he explained that the diet shift came after years of hidden health problems and that he now feels better than ever.
