Matt Damon on family, film work and Water.org as he enters his 50s

Hollywood actor Matt Damon said reaching his 50s has reshaped how he values time. He now focuses on three priorities: his family, his film projects and humanitarian work through the nonprofit Water.org, which he co‑founded in 2009 to expand access to clean drinking water.

Damon also discussed expanding his production company Artist's Equity, started with longtime friend Ben Affleck, to create movies that reflect his personal standards. He reflected on his career milestones, from winning the Oscar for Best Original Screenplay with Good Will Hunting to iconic roles such as Tom Ripley and the upcoming portrayal of Odysseus in Christopher Nolan’s adaptation.

He emphasized the importance of choosing projects that matter to him and of accepting what he cannot control, noting that family life with his wife Luciana Barroso and their four daughters remains central to his renewed outlook.
