Matt Damon pictured in red suit on set of new Daniels sci-fi film

First set photos have surfaced from the upcoming science fiction film by directors Daniel Scheinert and Daniel Kwan, known as The Daniels. The project, reportedly working under the title ‘Thasnagar’, features Matt Damon in a bright red superhero-style suit.

While the film has no official connection to the Power Rangers franchise, reports suggest it is heavily inspired by the aesthetic. The narrative is expected to jump between the 1980s and the present day, following a group of young heroes in color-coded costumes fighting kaiju. The plot may also incorporate themes of climate change.

The cast includes Sandra Oh, who is reportedly playing an AI assistant, and Charles Melton, who appears in a blue suit. Other cast members mentioned include Michael Gandolfini and PinkPantheress. The production has a reported budget exceeding $150 million and is slated for a theatrical release by Universal Pictures on November 19, 2027.
