Matt Donovan recovers after brain injury during college football game

Matt Donovan, a former Kasson-Mantorville graduate and current quarterback for Mayville State University, is recovering after suffering a brain bleed during a college football game in North Dakota. Following a head-to-head collision, Donovan was airlifted to a hospital in Fargo for emergency surgery and was subsequently placed in a medically induced coma.

The Mayville State football program has provided significant community support, with 75 players and coaches visiting Donovan in the hospital. During a FaceTime call with head coach Rocky Larson during a team prayer vigil, Donovan reportedly gave a thumbs up. His father, Terry Donovan, noted that Matt’s vital signs remain good and that he is showing neurological progress.
