Matt Foster set to rejoin Naranjeros de Hermosillo for 2026‑27 season

American right‑hander Matt Foster, the 2025‑26 Reliever of the Year in the Liga ARCO Mexicana del Pacífico (LAMP), has confirmed he will return to the Naranjeros de Hermosillo for the 2026‑27 campaign. Foster, 31, began his career at the University of Alabama before being drafted by the Chicago White Sox in 2016 and debuting in MLB in 2020. In his first LAMP season (2025‑26) he posted a 2‑1 record with a 1.16 ERA, 14 saves in 28 games and earned the league’s top reliever honor. He also spent 2025 with the Triple‑A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks (Reno) and the Algodoneros de Unión Laguna in the Mexican League, where he recorded a 3‑0 record and a 0.66 WHIP. The Naranjeros, managed by Venezuelan José “Cheo” Moreno, expect Foster to be a key piece of their bullpen as they prepare for the upcoming season.
