Matt Groening hints at return of The Simpsons: Hit & Run

During a panel at the D23 event, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening suggested that the 2003 video game ‘The Simpsons: Hit & Run’ may be returning in some form. When asked by attendees if the game could receive a sequel or revival similar to the upcoming Simpsons film, showrunner Matt Selman noted it would be great, though he quickly added a joking caveat of “or maybe not” to temper the excitement.

Groening appeared to make an accidental slip, stating, “I don’t know if I’m talking out of turn, but I think the original game is coming back in some form.” While it remains unconfirmed whether this refers to a remake, a remaster, or a direct sequel, the comment has generated significant interest among fans who have long requested a modern version of the title.
