Matt Groening hints at return of The Simpsons: Hit & Run

During a panel at the Disney D23 convention, The Simpsons creator Matt Groening suggested that the cult classic video game 'The Simpsons: Hit & Run' may be returning. When asked about a potential sequel, Groening stated, “I think the original game is coming back in some form.”

His comment was immediately met with a cautious response from current series showrunner Matt Selman, who added, “...or not,” appearing to downplay the remark. While no official announcement has been made by Disney or any publisher regarding a remake, remaster, or sequel, the comment has sparked significant speculation among fans.

Originally released in 2003 for platforms including PlayStation 2, Xbox, and GameCube, the open-world game developed by Radical Entertainment has maintained a strong following due to its humor and Springfield setting.
