Matt Gutman accused of sexual harassment in lawsuit filed by former colleague
Matt Gutman, a chief correspondent for CBS News, is facing a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by Samira Said, a former ABC News field producer. The lawsuit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, names Gutman, ABC News, and parent company The Walt Disney Co. as defendants.
Said alleges that Gutman created a hostile work environment during their time working together at ABC News. The complaint details two specific incidents: one where Gutman allegedly initiated a discussion rating a female correspondent’s physical appearance and professional standing using a numerical score, and another where he allegedly made a sexualized insinuation about Said’s personal life following a disagreement about a work site during a movie press event.
The legal action is part of a broader wrongful termination lawsuit against ABC News. Said, who worked as a producer from 2021 to 2025, claims she was wrongfully fired after being denied medical leave and accommodations for health issues. Neither Gutman, CBS News, nor ABC News has publicly commented on the allegations.
