Matt Kimbrel killed in Huntsville motorcycle crash

Matt Kimbrel, the 36-year-old brother of veteran MLB reliever Craig Kimbrel, died Saturday morning following a motorcycle collision in Huntsville, Alabama. Authorities stated that Matt Kimbrel was traveling at high speed on Highway 432 when his motorcycle struck the rear of a dump truck that was exiting the roadway.

Matt Kimbrel had played in the Atlanta Braves minor league system after being drafted by the organization. His brother, Craig Kimbrel, is a nine-time All-Star and former National League Rookie of the Year who recently signed with the Kansas City Royals. An investigation into the crash is currently ongoing, though officials do not anticipate criminal charges.
