Matt Lucas denies ‘Little Britain’ reboot rumors

Matt Lucas has denied rumors regarding a potential reboot of the sketch comedy series ‘Little Britain’. The claims, which suggested the show might return via a streaming platform due to the reactivation of Little Britain Ltd, were addressed by Lucas on social media, where he stated, “I don’t know where this story has come from but there are no plans to reboot this show.”

David Walliams had previously expressed interest in a revival, noting that streaming services might offer more creative freedom than traditional broadcasters like the BBC. He suggested that a new generation is discovering the series through social media platforms like TikTok.

The original series, which aired between 2003 and 2006, has faced scrutiny over culturally insensitive content. While the show was briefly removed from BBC iPlayer in 2020, it was re-added in 2022 with edits intended to reflect modern cultural standards. Both Lucas and Walliams have previously expressed regret regarding certain characters played in the series.
