Matt Lucas reveals autism diagnosis

Comedian and actor Matt Lucas has publicly disclosed for the first time that he has been diagnosed with autism. During an appearance on BBC Radio 2 with Romesh Ranganathan, the 52-year-old 'Little Britain' star shared that he had previously kept the diagnosis private.

Lucas described how the condition influences his lifestyle, noting a need to balance highly sociable periods, such as performing in the theatre, with essential periods of solitude. He explained that on his days off, he prioritizes time alone to recharge, stating, “I like not to see people and give them a break from me, but just to have that recharge time is quite important to me.”
