Matt Payne claims dual poles at Queensland Raceway

Matt Payne has secured pole position for both races at the Century Batteries Ipswich Super 440 held at Queensland Raceway. The Grove Racing driver set a new Gen3 qualifying benchmark with a lap of 1m08.0105s, later overcoming a tyre disadvantage to claim a second pole position.

Payne enters the weekend with a 118-point lead over championship rival Broc Feeney in the pursuit of the Repco Sprint Cup. If Payne extends his lead to 146 points, he could secure the title with one race remaining.

Brodie Kostecki will share the front row with Payne for both 39-lap races, having qualified second in both sessions. Chaz Mostert secured third in the first session, while Will Brown qualified fourth. Feeney is set to start fifth and sixth.
