Matt Sorum open to Velvet Revolver reunion with new singer

Drummer Matt Sorum has expressed openness to a Velvet Revolver reunion, potentially featuring a new lead vocalist. The supergroup, which originally included Slash, Duff McKagan, Dave Kushner, and the late Scott Weiland, was active from 2002 to 2008.

During an interview with the radio station 100 FM The Pike, Sorum discussed his production of the Sound & Vision Live album. He specifically praised Halestorm vocalist Lzzy Hale for her performance on a cover of Bad Company’s ‘Shooting Star,’ noting that even Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler highly commended her talent. When asked if Hale could front a reformed Velvet Revolver, Sorum responded, “Yeah. I mean come on, I’d do it,” though he noted he is unsure of the current plans of bandmates Slash and McKagan.
