Sheamus Leaves WWE After 19 Years, Citing Unnamed Circumstances

Irish wrestler Stephen Farrelly, known in‑ring as Sheamus, confirmed his departure from WWE after nearly two decades with the company. His contract is set to expire on 1 October, and he declined a restructured deal that would have reduced his salary. Sheamus said “some circumstances came up” that he cannot discuss, but added that he is enjoying time off, traveling with his wife, training, and spending more moments with family in Dublin.

He reaffirmed that he has no regrets about never winning the WWE Intercontinental Championship, describing his career as “amazing.” While future plans remain vague, he hinted that interest from other promotions such as AEW or New Japan Pro‑Wrestling could emerge once he becomes a free agent.
