Matteo Brunori set to depart Palermo amid transfer interest

Matteo Brunori, the long‑time captain of Serie B club Palermo, will leave the team as the summer transfer window progresses. Brunori, who joined Palermo on loan in August 2021, scored 25 goals in 36 matches and helped the club win promotion back to Serie B, later signing a contract through 2027 and becoming captain in 2023. He has indicated he does not want to drop to Serie C.

Several clubs have shown interest, with Serie C side Bari applying the strongest pressure. Serie B sides Cremonese and Cesena are also reportedly monitoring the striker. A final decision on Brunori’s destination is expected in the coming weeks.
