Matteo Darmian seeks new club after Inter Milan departure

Matteo Darmian has expressed his desire to continue playing professional football after becoming a free agent following the conclusion of his contract with Inter Milan. In an interview with SportWeek, the defender noted that being without a club is a new and strange sensation for him, as he had never faced such a situation in his career.

Darmian revealed that while he has held discussions with various sporting directors, no concrete agreements have been reached. He acknowledged that age and the market preference for younger players may be factors, but he remains confident in his ability to compete at a high level, specifically stating that he believes he is still worthy of playing in Serie A.

To maintain his readiness, Darmian is working individually with a trainer to preserve his physical condition, though he noted the difficulty of training alone without the rhythm and mental stimulation of a team environment. He also mentioned that this period has allowed him to spend more time with his two children.
