Matteo Farolfi presents ‘Warden’ exhibition in Ferrara

Matteo Farolfi is presenting his solo exhibition, ‘Warden’, at the Hotel Annunziata Art Gallery in Ferrara. Running from September 6 to November 1, the project explores the intersection of visual arts, artistic perfumery, and sound design.

The exhibition centers on the artist’s fragrance, ‘Naked Cure’, which serves as a medium to explore the relationship between scent, memory, and time. Farolfi utilizes canvases as olfactory supports, inviting visitors to engage with the works through smell to stimulate involuntary memory. The project includes various installations, such as ‘La Capsula del Tempo’, a bottle of the fragrance that will remain sealed under a glass case until 2036.

Complementing the visual and olfactory elements, musician Lucien Moreau has composed the album ‘Warden: Molecular Garden’, featuring 11 tracks inspired by the fragrance's notes. The exhibition also incorporates digital projections and historical references to Ferrara, including figures such as Isabella d’Este and Lucrezia Borgia.
