Matteo Ghisleri wins the 31st Campiello Giovani literary prize

Matteo Ghisleri, a 22-year-old from Vercelli, has won the 31st edition of the Campiello Giovani, a literary competition for young writers organized by Fondazione Il Campiello and Confindustria Veneto.

Ghisleri was selected by a jury led by Ermanno Paccagnini for his story “Ricalcolo percorso.” The jury praised the work for its personal style and its ability to create a “suspended atmosphere, balancing between reality and an indefinite elsewhere.” The narrative follows a young person traveling with family members toward a grandmother's funeral.

The competition drew 168 entries from Italy and abroad. Other finalists included Matteo D’Angelo, Ofelia Fioretti, Vincenzo Carlo Savoca, and Mattia Schifaudo. The winners and finalists receive various recognitions, including publication in a series by the Foundation and a study vacation in Europe for the winner.
