Matteo Salvini advocates for public works investment in Italy
Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Transport Minister Matteo Salvini has emphasized the importance of public works for national modernization and economic support. Speaking at the demolition of the final diaphragm of the new San Donato tunnel, Salvini noted that there are currently 13 billion euros in active construction sites in Tuscany and 250 billion euros across Italy.
Salvini called for political unity regarding major infrastructure projects in locations such as Florence, Messina, and Brenner. He argued that opening construction sites provides essential work for thousands of professionals, including engineers, technicians, and small business owners, thereby supporting families and enterprises during difficult economic times.
Regarding the upcoming budget law, the minister advocated for a strategy based on investment and vision to maintain employment levels. He highlighted that while Italy maintains a stable government, continued funding is necessary to sustain large-scale infrastructure projects.
