Matteo Salvini maintains 93% approval among Lega voters

A recent poll indicates strong support for Matteo Salvini among Lega voters, despite internal party tensions. According to data shared by Senator Claudio Borghi, 93% of Lega voters approve of Salvini’s leadership, with 53% rating his performance ‘very positively’ and 38% ‘fairly positively.’ This represents a significant increase from 2024, when approval stood at 70%.

The survey also addressed potential leadership changes, revealing that 62% of respondents want Salvini to remain at the helm of the party. Only 21% expressed a preference for a change before the next general elections.

These findings come amid public friction within the party. Figures such as Lombardy President Attilio Fontana and Lega Lombardy Secretary Massimo Romeo have voiced criticisms or called for a return to the party’s origins. However, supporters including Lorenzo Fontana and Silvia Sardone have rallied around Salvini, dismissing the internal disputes as noise rather than a fundamental split.
