Matteo Salvini’s Lega rebrands and pushes security agenda ahead of November elections

At the Lega’s Cervia festival, party leader Matteo Salvini emphasized tighter immigration controls, cited the Ceuta case as a model for border protection, and criticised the Spanish government’s migrant policies. He also recalled the August 2 Bologna attack, urging calm and respect for the victims, and announced that the party will contest the national elections scheduled for November.

Meanwhile, the Lega’s Brescia branch removed the phrase “Salvini Premier” from its logo, aligning with a broader national redesign that has already appeared on the party’s social‑media channels and on the Pontida rally poster. The change reflects ongoing internal debate over the party’s future direction and Salvini’s leadership role.
