Matteo Trapani opposes hiring second manager for SEPI
Matteo Trapani, a regional councilor for the PD and president of the Commission for Control and Guarantee of municipal subsidiaries, has criticized a proposal to hire a second permanent manager for SEPI. The potential revision of the company's organizational structure is expected to be discussed at the shareholders' meeting on October 13.
Trapani argues that for years, SEPI has lacked the necessary resources for hiring staff, investing in training, and upgrading equipment. He has called on Mayor Michele Conti to justify the costs and reasoning behind the decision to add a high-level executive position.
According to Trapani, the priority for the company should be strengthening tax collection and combating evasion to reduce the burden of the TARI (waste tax) on families and businesses. He maintains that SEPI has functioned with a single manager for years and that the focus should remain on services, personnel, and technological investments rather than increasing management positions.
