Matteo Trefoloni introduces new standards for Bulgarian football referees

Matteo Trefoloni, the new chairman of the Refereeing Commission of the Bulgarian Football Union, has conducted a series of working meetings across Bulgaria to introduce a new philosophy and set of requirements for football officials.

Between August 18 and August 21, Trefoloni and his team met with professional and amateur referees, observers, and officials in several cities, including Sofia, Veliko Tarnovo, Varna, Burgas, and Plovdiv. The initiative aims to establish uniform decision-making criteria, improve discipline, and enhance professional conduct across all levels of Bulgarian football.

During these sessions, Trefoloni emphasized UEFA guidelines regarding the Laws of the Game, focusing on positioning, communication with players, and the consistent application of rules. The new leadership intends to extend these standards from the professional leagues down to amateur levels, utilizing improved technical monitoring to analyze and evaluate performance more effectively.
