Former MI6 intelligence officer Matthew Dunn has shared details regarding his career in espionage, which began in 1996 after he was recruited by a university professor while studying at the University of East Anglia.

Dunn revealed that his role involved operating alone in hostile locations globally to target high-ranking figures in rogue states. To maintain cover, he utilized up to 14 different alias identities simultaneously. He noted that maintaining these identities required creating exhaustive backstories, including details about education, residence, and even local preferences like the types of beer available at a specific pub, to withstand scrutiny at ports of entry.

His service earned him a personal commendation from the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs for an operation that enhanced the security of Great Britain and its allies. Dunn is now transitioning into a new stage show designed to simulate a high-stakes intelligence operation for audiences.
