Matthew Jackson scholarship established for UBC physiotherapy students
A new scholarship has been established in memory of Matthew Jackson, a physiotherapist from Oak Bay, to support students pursuing physical therapy at the University of British Columbia. The fund will provide support to one student annually.
Matthew Jackson, who died three years ago while surfing in Tofino, was a graduate of the University of British Columbia and the University of Victoria. He practiced physiotherapy in Texas and later at a clinic on Cook Street before joining the medical team at RebalanceMD in 2013. His mother, Barbara Jackson, helped initiate the fund to honor his legacy and his empathetic approach to patient care.
