Matthew McConaughey read negative reviews during desert trip
Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey revealed that he once spent two days reading negative reviews of his work while on a week-long trip to the desert.
Speaking on the 'Build or Break' podcast, the 56-year-old actor explained that he brought a thick book containing the critiques with him. He noted that while some reviews felt personally motivated against him, others were insightful, leading him to reflect on where his performances might have failed to meet expectations. McConaughey admitted that negative criticism does affect him, though he jokingly remarked that he tries to tell himself that those who write positive reviews are the 'smart ones'.
