Matthew Nicks acknowledges job pressure ahead of Crows finals
Adelaide Crows coach Matthew Nicks has acknowledged that his job security is at risk if the team fails to perform in the upcoming AFL finals series. Despite being contracted until the end of 2028, Nicks admitted there is significant pressure to deliver following the club's straight-sets exit from last year's finals.
Nicks noted that while the team is currently lower on the ladder than last season, he believes the group is mentally prepared and has worked extensively on execution issues that led to losses against Collingwood and Hawthorn last year. He expressed pride in the progress made since beginning a rebuild in 2020.
