Matthew Stafford faces Rams loss and scrutiny over past Colts trade rumors

The Los Angeles Rams suffered a 18-16 loss to the Arizona Cardinals following a last-second 43-yard field goal by Chad Ryland. Despite a fourth-quarter comeback led by quarterback Matthew Stafford, the Rams fell to a 2-4 record, placing them last in the NFC West.

In related news regarding Stafford’s career trajectory, reports highlight that the Indianapolis Colts previously passed on the opportunity to trade for him in 2021. At that time, the Colts were seeking a long-term replacement for the retired Andrew Luck but declined to meet the trade cost required by the Detroit Lions. Since that decision, the Colts have struggled to find stability at the quarterback position, cycling through various veteran options and recent selections.
