Matthias Blum Leaves Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie After 22 Years

Matthias Blum, member of the executive board of the Immanuel Albertinen Diakonie, formally ended his 22‑year tenure at a farewell held on 24 September 2024 in the baptist restaurant in Schöneberg. Around 100 current and former staff, plus guests from banks, consulting firms and associations across Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg and South Thuringia attended.

Speakers highlighted Blum’s work, including his oversight of the Immanuel Klinikum Bernau Heart Centre. The program featured five short AI‑generated explanatory videos, musical interludes, and a presentation of a 702‑piece LEGO set symbolising team spirit. Blum gave a personal reflection on his time before the service concluded with a benediction.

The event underscored his reputation as a strategic, hands‑on leader who combined entrepreneurial drive with diaconal values, earning the gratitude of colleagues and partners alike.
