Rohde & Schwarz acquires two space technology startups

Munich-based technology group Rohde & Schwarz is expanding its satellite business through the acquisition of two Dresden-based deep-tech startups, NEOSAT and PHYTRONIC.

NEOSAT, founded in 2018 at the University of the Bundeswehr Munich, specializes in multi-antenna satellite systems, satellite-based IoT connectivity, and communication payloads. PHYTRONIC, established in 2023, focuses on innovative waveform design for aerospace, avionics, and secure terrestrial sensor systems.

Through these acquisitions, Rohde & Schwarz aims to integrate specialized expertise into its industrial development and production processes. The move is intended to increase value chain depth and strengthen the company's competitive position within the growing SATCOM and space technology markets.
