Matthias Reim announces new single and addresses tax payment

German Schlager singer Matthias Reim is preparing for the release of his new album, ‘Flashback’, scheduled for September 18, 2026. Ahead of the album, he is releasing a new single titled ‘Aus meinem Kopf’ on August 21, 2026. The track is described as a modern production featuring driving beats and guitars, focusing on themes of emotional longing and the difficulty of moving on from a past relationship.

Separately, Reim has addressed a significant tax issue involving a €35,000 back payment. The German tax authorities issued the demand based on the timing of his permanent separation from his third wife, Sarah Stanek. Although the divorce was not officially finalized until 2017, the tax office determined that the couple had effectively separated in 2013 following media reports of his new relationship. Reim confirmed that after reviewing the claim, he was required to pay the amount.
