Matthias Reim pauses musical project due to anniversary tour

German Schlager singer Matthias Reim has announced that his planned musical based on his hit song ‘Verdammt, ich lieb' dich’ is currently on hold. The project is at a standstill due to his extensive two-year anniversary tour, which has proven more successful and time-consuming than originally anticipated.

Reim stated that the musical requires significant dedication and ‘heart and soul,’ which he cannot currently provide alongside his album production and concert schedule. While the project is paused, he has not abandoned the idea and intends to potentially revisit it in 2028, provided he can take a break from touring.

Despite the delay, the 68-year-old singer expressed that he has no intention of retiring from the stage and remains open to such projects even as he approaches age 70. He is also releasing a new album titled ‘Flashbacks’ this Friday.
