Matthieu Pigasse describes France as being in a “prerevolutionary moment”

During the summer meetings of the Les Écologistes party in Grenoble, financier and entrepreneur Matthieu Pigasse described France as being in a “prerevolutionary moment” facing an “agonizing technocratic monarchy.”

Responding to calls from party leader Marine Tondelier for a “night of the abolition of climate privileges,” Pigasse defended his own status by stating, “I am not noble, I am part of the third estate,” while acknowledging he has acquired certain privileges through his career. He emphasized that he built his success himself rather than inheriting it.

Speaking in a debate regarding the “cultural battle against the far right,” the owner of Radio Nova and various music festivals urged the need to “deconstruct the narratives and myths of the right” and provide a new “imaginary” to restore hope. He positioned the Green party at the forefront of this struggle, particularly concerning climate change and water management.
