Mattia Bertoldi releases historical novel La resistente

Mattia Bertoldi has released “La resistente”, a historical novel based on a true story involving the Italian Resistance. The narrative follows Lucia Buonvicini, a Swiss-born woman who joined the resistance movement in Italy under the codename “Nichi”.

To evade fascist raids, Buonvicini utilized her nine-year-old son, Renzo, to act as a messenger and observer for the partisans. The book was developed through extensive research, including interviews and testimonies from Renzo, who is now 92 years old. The novel explores themes of courage, freedom, and the premature loss of childhood during wartime.
