Mattia Liberali signs long‑term contract with Como until 2031

Italian midfielder Mattia Liberali, a 2007‑born product of AC Milan’s youth academy, has joined Serie A club Como 1907 on a contract that runs until 30 June 2031. After a season on loan at Catanzaro in Serie B – where he made 24 appearances, scoring three goals and providing four assists – Liberali completed a permanent transfer for a €6 million release clause, €3 million of which will go to Milan.

Como’s coach Cesc Fàbregas praised the youngster, describing him as “creative with excellent technical skills and confidence in possession, able to work well in tight spaces and create chances.” Liberali echoed the sentiment, calling the move a “great emotion” and saying he is eager to grow, improve and that the club’s playing philosophy “fits perfectly.” The signing is presented as a strategic investment in a promising talent for the club’s future.

Milan had reportedly tried to re‑sign the player before the deal, but Liberali chose Como’s project, sealing a long‑term commitment that signals the club’s ambition ahead of the upcoming Serie A season.
