Trofeo Riccardo Voltarelli: Rizzotto sets new course record in Mirto Crosia

The second edition of the Trofeo Riccardo Voltarelli, a 10km road running race held in Mirto Crosia, Calabria, saw several new records and regional Master titles awarded. Mattias Rizzotto of Scuola Atl. Krotoniate secured the absolute victory with a time of 31’07”, setting a new course record by over a minute. Danilo Ruggiero finished second, earning the regional Master FIDAL title for his category. In the women's race, Mariacarmela Nardi of Kos Running maintained her dominance, finishing in 43’10”.

Following the race, Danilo Ruggiero used his podium appearance to criticize the Crotone municipal administration regarding the management of local sports facilities and recent fee increases, describing the current regulations as a monopoly that hinders emerging athletic clubs.

In football, Crotone is preparing to host Inter U23 at the Ezio Scida stadium. Crotone coach Leandro Greco described Inter U23 as a high-quality opponent capable of winning the championship, emphasizing the need for his team to show greater aggression and intensity to secure a victory.
