Matvey Safonov discusses PSG teammates and career goals

Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Matvey Safonov has shared his perspectives on his professional goals and his teammates. Following a nomination for the Yachine Trophy, Safonov stated in an interview with the YouTube channel Vpiska that while he aims to be among the top five goalkeepers in the world, he does not consider himself the best.

Safonov also expressed high praise for teammate Ousmane Dembélé, describing him as the best player he has played with. He noted Dembélé’s ability to make unexpected decisions and his spatial awareness on the pitch. Dembélé, who won the Ballon d'Or in 2025, remains a contender for the award following his performances during the 2025-26 season, with the results expected on October 26.
