Mauá begins construction of new R$ 10.5 million health unit

The city of Mauá has begun construction on a new Basic Health Unit (UBS) in the Jardim Elizabeth neighborhood. The project, funded by the Novo PAC program, represents an investment of R$ 10.5 million.

The 1,161.77 square meter facility is expected to be completed within 18 months. The modern structure will include 11 consultation rooms for primary healthcare teams, dentistry services, vaccination rooms, and emergency observation areas.

Specialized features of the new unit include a 'Lilac Room' for the protected care of women victims of violence, a breastfeeding room, and digital health infrastructure such as telehealth totems. The building is designed with full accessibility, featuring tactile maps, QR code signage, and adapted environments for people with disabilities.
