Mauá da Serra toll system faces complaints of improper charges

Drivers in the Vale do Ivaí region are reporting improper charges at the electronic free-flow toll on the BR-376 highway in Mauá da Serra. The toll, managed by the concessionaire Motiva, began operations on June 1.

Complaints include duplicate charges for passenger vehicles and incorrect vehicle classification for trucks. Specifically, some drivers report being charged for multiple trips despite paying correctly, while others have sought assistance from Procon to resolve these discrepancies.

Additionally, rural producers have noted that trucks traveling with suspended axles are being charged as if all axles were in use. This practice reportedly contradicts the 'Lei do Caminhoneiro' (Trucker Law), which exempts cargo vehicles traveling empty from paying tolls on suspended axles.
